So this is where I tell you all about how I'm qualified to critique your book and try to convince you to send me your pages with some fancy marketing spiel and publishing buzzwords.
Well, I'm not going to do that. I'm going to tell you my qualifications and why I want to edit your manuscript. I'm going to be honest about my reasons so you can make the decision for yourself.
My name is Beth Lewis, I've been working in the publishing industry as an editor and publisher for three years. I have a 1st class degree in Publishing from Oxford Brookes University so have more knowledge than most about the inner workings of the industry. After graduating, I started work as an Editorial Assistant for an academic publisher. For the past two years I have been working as the Assistant Publisher at a small SFF publisher. I work on fiction and non-fiction and do everything from commissioning, editing, and art direction, to product release and marketing.
I'm also a writer. I've had dozens of short stories and poems published over the years, have completed a YA fantasy novel (which happily sits in my drawer) and am currently working on several fiction projects.
The reason I set this blog up is because I want to give aspiring authors an honest, affordable, and informed critique. I also want to gain a higher industry profile and more specific editorial experience. So send me your books, I have pen - I will edit.
